living the 'green' life

Klopf Architecture designed a light and airy net-zero home for a couple in California. They wanted a home filled with natural light, that is private, and has a low impact on the environment. They both work from home so having a good work space was also a must. And an awesome work space they got! I can't tell you how jealous I am of their work space. Hello, look at those rows and rows of flat files. Oh how my heart swoons ; )

Colorful Container Home

This wonderfully vibrant container home by StudioMK27 makes me smile. I love the use of industrial materials as well as the reuse of the neon painted shipping containers. I do miss seeing some warmer elements like wood floors or plywood walls. But it's a pretty fab home none the less.

Snow Snow Snow!

it's been snowing in our area since Sunday and it hasn't really stopped! but we're having fun sledding downhills, making snow people, having the occasional snow ball fight and snowboarding down the hill around the corner from our home. oh and drinking lots and lots of hot cocoa.
we wish you a cozy and warm weekend, xo

A Modern Cube - Peter Gluck & Partners

this modern cube sits on a family retreat in the Catskills Mountains. the lower level of the Scholar's Library is void of windows so that the 10,000 books housed there will remain preserved. the upper level has a seamless row of windows that makes it feel like you are in a very posh treehouse.

Ochre Barn in Norfolk

a rural barn in Norfolk was given an invigorating remodel using OSB. i am so loving this place but at 5,000 sqft it's a bit large for a country home.
